Smoke Justis Sports Bar & Restaurant is on the Roebling Point Food Tour! Located on the corner of Park and Court in Historic Covington’s Roebling Point neighborhood, Smoke Justis Sports Bar and Restaurant features smoked meats, whiskey, craft beer, live music, and arcade games. Smoke Justis Sports Bar & Restaurant is named after a former baseball player Walter “Smoke” Justis who played on the Covington Blue Sox in 1913 before they were renamed the “Packers” and shipped of to Kansas City. The team played in the Federal League which was called the 3rd Major League before the league folded in 1915. Smoke Justis Sports Bar & Restaurant is owned and managed by the owner of Dickman’s Sports Cafe, a Northern Kentucky Bar & Grill in Ft. Wright, Kentucky that every local has visited one time or another!

We will stroll through the historic Licking Riverside neighborhood, view the magnificent John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge as well as the Roebling Murals at the Covington Waterfront. We will taste a specially-selected variety of foods from local restaurants including Molly Malone’s Irish Pub, Smoke Justis, Keystone Bar & Grill, The Gruff, and Blinkers Tavern.
The food samplings on this tour are ample for lunch and include a wide variety of dishes to please every guest. Each tasting is served from a locally-owned and operated restaurant which takes pride in utilizing Kentucky Proud products that support nearby farms and businesses. We begin the tour with a sampling of authentic Irish specialties from Molly Malone’s. Our next stop is Smoke Justis, Covington’s premier Sports Bar where we will sample their smoked chicken wings and enjoy a tasting of craft beer from Braxton Brewery. Our third stop is Keystone Bar & Grill known for their award winning varieties of mac and cheese. After we stroll the Roebling Bridge, we visit The Gruff where a specialty salad, pizza or sandwich is featured. Our tour concludes with Bread Pudding Du Jour from Blinkers Tavern, one of the highest rated restaurants in Covington on TripAdvisor!
Cultural, Historic, and Architectural Experiences of the Roebling Point Food Tour!
Between the great tastings, we’ll stroll through the Licking Riverside neighborhood, chock full of beautiful mansions dating back from the mid 1800’s. We’ll view the Ohio River while standing on the Roebling Suspension Bridge, and hear stories about the German immigrants who settled this frontier town and developed this posh neighborhood. View the 18 murals over two stories tall and one thousand feet long, depicting the history of Covington, KY from 800 BC through the Tall Stacks Steamboat celebration in 2008.
