On our Madison Avenue food tour, we visit local family owned eateries where we taste delicious food featuring global cuisine and "down home" Kentucky favorites! Our well-informed local tour guides will help you uncover old and new landmarks and share the exciting renaissance the city is undergoing. At it's peak, Madison Avenue was a cultural epicenter, with premier shopping, banking, theaters and celebrations. Current revitalization efforts are restoring this historic gem to it's former glory, providing many new restaurants owned by a variety of entrepreneurs.
We begin our tour inside the lobby of Hotel Covington with a gourmet breakfast sandwich. We walk to Left Bank, a family owned French inspired coffee house which features a big variety of coffee drinks. This is followed by an epic taco in an artsy tequila bar Agave and Rye. After a stroll through the Mutter Gottes neighborhood, we arrive at a traditional New York Style Italian Deli in the heart of Covington. We move on to Braxton Brewing Company for a local craft beer sample in a refurbished Sears and Roebuck store and end the tour with a sweet treat from Rich's Proper Food & Drink. The food tastings are ample for a satisfying lunch.
