Walk through pages of history as we stroll through Over the Rhine, just a few blocks north of downtown Cincinnati. We begin in beautiful Washington Park, dating back to the Victorian era, complete with a bandstand, fountains, statues and majestic trees. Learn about majestic Music Hall and why it is said to be haunted! Dine in beautiful restored Italianate buildings which were former tenements and convenience stores.
Over the Rhine is mecca for foodies with over dozens of local restaurants. Our Over the Rhine evening tour has so many to choose from, that our locations vary from week. We may begin our culinary adventure with a wonderful dish from an Israeli owned restaurant nick-named the hidden gem, or a lively Latin American spot or a converted historic church which is now an Ale House named after a Cincinnati-born president!
As we head over to Vine Street, look up and see Cincinnati's famous citizens displayed on multi-story murals all over the neighborhood. It's hard not to window shop as we pass by numerous colorful stores, bars and restaurants! You notice the sidewalks are full of people with lively conversation and it's not even the weekend yet!
Our next tasting may take place in an 18th century German Beer hall, now turned into a snout to tail butchery. You can't get a sandwich any fresher than that! Or we may dine in a German restaurant with a roof top view! Have you been to Argentina? We know a place where they make some of the best empanadas in the town using their grandmothers recipes.
The best is yet to come, as we approach the highlight of the tour, a family owned urban winery. You will not meet a friendlier staff who love to share their story by engaging you in their wine making process. This boutique winery specialize in handcrafted small batch wines using a process that originated in Italy by the owners family!
We end the tour on a sweet note where your dessert is created right before our eyes! With a couple shots of liquid nitrogen, fresh cream, sugar and alcohol you have a buzzed ice cream treat! Or how long has been since you tasted a s'more? We know a special place that specializes in homemade marshmallows topped with gourmet chocolate.
